In theory getting given points in any european country should result on points being added to your license. In practice this rarely happens, plus with the current online scams for exhange licenses etc still to be resolved in many european countries, its a way off before it can happen correctly.

well, they "gave" me 3 points also for speeding. Funny thing, although can't understand any Greek and had to ask a colleague to translate, instead of having my Passport No. or License No. on the paper that shows my 3 points , it has my car's registration number...Go figure...What if I sell my car and get a new one/new registration no. (Logbook) ? Will the points transfer to the new owner ? LOL !! In Cyprus, I wouldn't be surprised, anything goes.

It's hard to find any legislation/info on this, and I'm afraid inquiring at the Police Station won't help much either..
I would say don't worry about it too much.

P.S. what was your traffic offense and why did you have to appear in court ?
