Lets wait and see what happens. Less than 48 hours to D-Day!

I'm sure we'll all hear stories, or have our own to tell, about this one.

Same at Larnaca main police station ~ all the cars there still had their tax disk stuck to the windscreen last week.

Hi again NewinCyprus,

You wrote 'What next I wonder?'

Well having just had dinner with the friend who asked a policeman about this. He told me what made him smile was the police cars parked outside the station still had tax discs on the windscreens... a case of do as we say not what we do!

If the police can tell if you have taxed, mot'd and insured your vehicle why is there a requirement for you to put the tax disk in the glove compartment ?

Personally next time I renew my road tax I'm going to refuse the disk as now it seems to be a redundant bit of paper !!!!

Thanks Johnners

That is what I had heard too.

I thought I had got away from silly rules when I left England but it seems they have followed me here!

What next I wonder?

You dont really need any documents with you as police just check reg number and it tells them if insurance, mot and tax is up to date.

Same as UK but for some reason tax disc still needs to be displayed there with holograms printed in so cant be copied.
