Registering child birth in Cyprus?

I think they ask for your yellow slip but you don't actually need it. I've just registered my baby boy's birth recently and my OH doesn't have a yellow slip and it was fine. Just take passports with you instead. You might not necessarily live in Cyprus to have a baby here so it's nonsense you go back there and argue it out!

Why dont you just register the babies birth at the British High Commission and get a British birth certificate for the child?

Where are you if in limassol, you can just go to the general town hall building and with your passports register the birth of the child, belongs you have the forms from the hospital or clinic,
