A typical example Manchester to Malaga on 8/11/09 at 20.25 landing at 22.20. GB sterling it's £39.99 +£14.55 tax, if it's booked from Spain you have to pay in Euros and it's 53 euros +19.97 euros tax.

The exchange rate is £1 to 1.32e on the flight and £1 to 1.37e on the tax. To check it divide the smaller number into the bigger number(on your calculator).

At £1 to 1.10e the prices should be £39.99 equals e43.98 and the tax is £14.99 equals 16.48e.

They are over charging Spaniards 12.51e

Have you factored in the different airport taxes in each direction?

Forgot to mention Cyprus airways have a flight that is £120.70p or 132 euros, this works out at £1 to 1.09 euros. (this was just to check the exchange rate, it was not for a flight from Gatwick to Larnaca on the 25th)
