Very sorry to hear that...
Unfortunately your husband if he suceed to have yellow slip will start to benefit from the social insurance from the date of registering his self as unemployed and not from the day that he stay without job. And the first payment after registration can take 3 months.
But in your case what i could suggest is to apply to the welfare office of the city that you live.
Explane to them the situation and they will help. Specially when 2 small kids are involved.
