As emba says, you shouldn't have too much trouble in getting a mortgage. But be warned that interest rates here are very high compared to the UK - and avoid speculating on the currency market - take a mortgage in Euros or Sterling.

Hi there, local banks are begging for customers like you, and being a UK resident doesn't bother them, you will need to provide proof of income etc speak to any of the ibu's international business units of any local bank and they will tell you, and they all speak good English...god luck
