You say that you have paid your property tax, did you mean IPT, if so do you know that you can claim back some of it from the Inland Revenue,

No, our lawyer dealt with it for us. I have a scan of the pink receipt, hardcopy in the post.

Did you go to the Land Registry office to pay for the transfer tax and sign?
I believe you have to do this in person and then get a receipt from them direct?
This can't be done through anyone else.
We got our deeds in less than a week after queuing in the Land Registry office for 5 hours.

In my experience it took just over a week but that was 15 years ago .

Friends who have recently paid the transfer tax got their deeds in four weeks ~ they paid cash at the land registry and were told if they paid by cheque it would take considerably longer .

This was at Larnaca land registry ~ a different location could mean a longer wait depending on how many staff they have and how busy they are .

Four weeks sounds a lot, lot better - anyone else got any experience of this?

Thanks Johnners for your comment. I may be wrong, but that thread seems to refer to the delay in getting the developers mobilised.

Our situation is that the developer is now out of the equation, title is ours, there are no mortgages and it's just a matter of ISSUING the deeds.

Is there something I've missed, or maybe it really does take that long?!

Hi Enda,

How long is a piece of string?

Take a look at this thread http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=52889

For information our deeds were issued in just under three years, but that was in 2003.
