Dogs are banned by law but my husband and I walk up the limassol sea front most days and there's always dogs around, sitting on the sand with their owners and on occassion even playing in the water!!! Cafe bars have signs saying no dogs allowed but they do allow them to sit in the outdoor section. Difficult one to have a dog friendly bar. Good luck.

Then an added problem you'd face is that as things stand at the moment, dogs are banned by law from almost all beaches

Thanks, we were thinking of a dogfriendly beach bar for the whole year.
Maybe if some people get together with a project like that?!
Always open for ideas.

Some Municipalities offer franchise areas for rent on their beaches (for example the different sunbed licenses on Larnaca's Finikoudes beach). Talk to someone at the Town Hall in the area youre interested in to see if they can help you. Everything is usually snapped up very quickly so now you're talking about what would be available for summer 2011. There's always a lot of very strong competition for such plots which usually go to the highest bidder. It's also hard for newcomers to break into the circle of the select.

Was thinking about the beach bars, that are build up in June directly on the beach beside the road where 'Ricco's' and 'Seaside cafe' are. They build up bars, toilet, sunshades a.s.o - a real beach bar- in June and remove everything in october.
So something must be possible for more than a few days!
Please explain, what is a ''property adjacent to the beach'' and do you know where to ask for something like that ??

The beach belongs to the public in Cyprus. You can't lease it. You could try to lease property adjacent to the beach but that would be extremely expensive at popular locations. The other alternative is if what you have in mind is sort of like an event, you can get permission from the local municipality to organize an event for a few days.
