Hi Dorsetfam,

There is a company in Cyprus that can arrange a mortgage for you - I'll email you the contact details.

Excuse me if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs but:

1. Under no circumstances should you sign any papers or hand over any money until you have taken independent legal advice. (The British High Commission in Nicosia publishes a list of lawyers that you can find at http://www.news.cyprus-property-buyers.com/2009/11/23/finding-lawyers-in-cyprus/id=002254

2. Make sure you have have a mortgage agreed before you enter into a contract to buy.

3. Make sure that you have sufficient critical/life insurance to cover the mortgage.

Regards,

Hello Dorsetfam,

I don't know how far down the line you are regards buying a property here but it's worth, if you haven't already, taking a look at this website http://www.cyprus-property-buyers.com/index.html As you'll see it's not just your mortgage you need to be taking care of. The whole process of buying here is... s l o w... don't expect everything to be completed as quickly as in the UK, it won't be. For example; You could be waiting years for your title deeds.
