Yes - you'll need to ask the Inland Revenue for a tax return form if they do not send you one.

Hi dalane,

Yes, this is legal. Community Councils can tax you on your rental income (it's not VAT). Pissouri Council does the same - and I expect many more do as well.

If you are resident in the UK, you'll need to enter your rental income on your income tax return - and you will be able to offset your liability by the amount of tax you have paid in Cyprus, so you'll be no worse off.
