For anyone who hasn't tried it and would like to try something different, there is a lovely Taverna in the Old Town , road leading down from Zako to the mosque called The Porta Tavern. ( Big blue door.)

Here they have a house speciality ( apart from a Cypriot and International Menu) its called Foukoutha BBQ at your table, where you cook your own food.
Great fun, can accommodate minimum two persons up to parties of 50 or so.
Beef, chicken, with various marinades and sauces, sallad and jacket potatoes, healthy too as its cooked on charcoal.

I really enjoyed mine. Give it a go, or for those who don't want to cook there is a large selection of other dishes on the menu. Very reasonable prices too, and the building is a 200 year old renovated donkey stable. Great atmosphere, looks like a wine cellar with stone arches inside. tel 25 360339

Why not try the Cuckoos nest in ST Andrews street, the food is great and prices are even better. It is a tiny little traditional taverna opposite the Meze taverna. All food is cooked and prepared by the owners wife and they are great with childeren. An average bill of 2 with a bottle of wine is around 25 euro and we cannot eat all of the meal. Excellent value.
