The Thalers were frequently incorporated in Bedouin jewellery in Arabia but you have to be aware of the fact that many were minted decades after the 'date' which appears on the coin (ie they are nothing like as old as you would assume).

Most such Thalers are still available incredibly cheaply in the Middle East.

Thanks, Devil. I've got a little further with the research and it seems to be a Marie Teresa Thaler coin. I'm not sure of the value but I don't think it's very valuable. I found it among my mother's effects.
