Umm, DEET is a toxin to the body. It damages the neurological system. Look it up, there is loadz of info on the net. check out naturalNews.comPlus, it doesn't always work. There are natural alternative, like essential oils. But the best remains to cover up at dusk and mozi screens at night (bed net and window screens).
Enjoy your trip!Clem

Hi Annika,

Most of the mosquito sprays and lotions contain DEET, in varying amounts, it's usually time consuming searching for ones that don't have DEET in.

When we went to Sri Lanka we took an off the shelf spray bought here and on arrival at Bandaranaike International in Columbo we got a spray at the airport. If you're flying into Bandaranaike then there's a pharmacy, of sorts, just after you clear baggage & customs close to the main exit.
