Hi Janet,

My wife was on a particular medication when we moved here several years ago. The product name in the UK was different than here in Cyprus. So, like you, we had blank looks from the pharmacist. We did some research and found the name it was sold under here and my wife was able to complete the course of treatment.

Look at the packaging for Stalevo and Miraprexin. Somewhere it will say 'PL 12345678' The numbers are the product licence and it will appear on all packaging for that drug regardless of the name on the box. You'll then need to see if your pharmacist can get that drug under another product name.

We were able to get the medication for free as the product was available here in Cyprus from another manufacturer. You still might not get it for free, the list for those drugs is very small, but you may get a generic version which is much cheaper.
