We have a (large) piece of land in Agios Theodoros hillside.

I go there 2 times a day and let them run free for a couple of hours... They usually stay on our land, but sometimes they escape...

Poor Stevie (R.I.P) just got unlucky I'm afraid.

We are in the process of fencing the entire land so they cannot get out, and others can't get in.

Should be better then.

But snakes are part of nature and they have a right to live too. They are of use also. (rats etc.)

Just not nice if you have to deal with a bite.

Thanks everybody for the kind words.

Hi just to let you know that we found a small but nevertheless live snake in our garden only last weekend.

Luckily our dogs didn't find it before we removed it!

That's really a shame, Wendy. I'm sorry to hear it. We need to all be on our guard.

Hi Steve,

Yes, they do go into hibernating now BUT.... Last week I lost one of my dogs due to a snake bite.

He must have run over him.

I took him to the vet and he was put on anti biotics and steroids, he seemed fine for the first week , then slowly got worse....

Just still be careful.

Good luck.

Kind regards,

Wendy

Hi

I receive the Pissouri newsletter every week. This week's showed two hunters holding up two dead very long vipers (poisonous) they had killed. So the snakes are very much out at this time. (Heat and wet).
