Incidentally, the wolf spider is a quite different animal.

Yes, we had one in our courtyard a couple of months back. Mediterranean tarantulas are smaller than their South American cousins and rarely lethal, though they can give you a very nasty and painful bite. The good news is that they are secretive creatures which, given the opportunity, will scuttle away and hide and will only turn and bite if they are really provoked or threatened. With ours, we left it alone and it wandered off quite happily of its own accord.

it may have been someone pet and it escaped. why dont you trap it in a jar and take it to a pet store they might know.

ps. apparently killing spiders is bad luck!!!

Hi, yes I have come across them a few times. If you want a picture I think if you google wolf spider they are the same. If you spray them with the green bygone they die.

Its important that I get an answer.... I've found a spider and i cant find a picture of it...
