Try Turtle and Moon in Tremithousa. The groups are friendly and relaxed.

I know your original post was a year ago, but we didn't offer this then. From early October, however, the Cyprus College of Art will be offering a weekly beginners painting class, called Painting for Fun, at Lempa village near Paphos.

It is based on the popular Painting for Fun class which has been running for three years in Larnaca, and the tutor in Lempa will be Roddy Newlands, a graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, who has 29 years experience as a tutor at Norwich School of Art. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm, starting 6 October.

Everyone enrolling gets a starter set of paints to get them going, and the programme is designed for people with little or no experience, or those who just want to enjoy the company of others whilst enjoying a gentle painting class.

It is also one of the lowest cost adult education classes in Cyprus, at 100 euro for the ten weeks between October and Christmas. Full details and an enrolment form are on the Cyprus College of Art website at www.artcyprus.org
