If it is 4CV fiscal cost is Euro 98.76

If it is 5CV                            121.76

This is assuming you live in 35 as these are Prefecture in Rennes costs.

On second thoughts, you can find the fiscal HP here http://www.auto-selection.com/fiche-technique/renault/twingo/1994/ - the other site I suggested doesn't seem to go back that far.

Find your exact make and model here and make a note of the fiscal hp (or ask the seller - the fiscal hp is stated on the carte grise).

Then go here and put all the info in, and it'll tell you the cost to re-register. I would guess not more than a couple of hundred € if that.

Excuse me, yes, you may need a re-test for the CT, lost track of time!

The CT is still valid, it is relative to the car not the owner, therefore March 2017 is when you will next need to  have a CT inspection done.  You will however, have to register the vehicle in your name.  The cost depends on various things including horsepower and age (roughly speaking) so without knowing exactly what the car is, that question can't be answered.

You will need at least 18 months left on the CT to register the car in your name so it will need a retest. Get the seller to do it. The cost of registering the car in your name will depend on its Fiscal horsepower.
