We live on the named route and yes I can confirm it is to do with the power lines.

Correction, that should infact read

Update on this post. I have been reliably informed that the road closure is because the relevant authorities are sinking  the electrical cables underground so that if there is an electrical disruption in either the north or south of brittany,  then the center of brittany will remain unaffected by power cuts.

And that the laying of the lines underground, is actually only  taking place between the two points shown on  this  map.

When we went to the hospital a few weeks ago, via the neulliac new road to there we noticed they looked to be starting that end of the link, so maybe as Vulcan said it is part of that link.

kernana posted the link of the road closure and yes it will be closed for 3 months options being via Seglien or the Guern road   https://www.google.fr/maps/dir/48.0975374,-3.0764868/48.060608,-3.1595709/@48.0794548,-3.1533983,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!4m1!3e0

Hi all, we are also trying to find out exactly where the road will be closed off. We have to get to the centre of Malguenac twice a day. We leave Ploerdut at 7.05am to catch the school bus at 7.25am. I can't believe they are going to shut both sides of this road at the same time for nearly 3 months! Surely they can't divert all the school buses and heavy haulage through Seglien or Guern road to Malguenac? Any further info or updates much appreciated, thanks.

Please blame the typos on too much early xmas indulgence :) ...oh, and by the way. A very Happy Christmas to one and all.

Absolutely nothing on it anywhere Fitter. I can only assume on of possibly 2 things, that  it may be that they are channeling out the distches either side, so's to help in the water runoff or  they are widening the road, which is really a non-starter, seeing as it would take longer than that. if I find out, I will post.

I have tried to find out the reason for the closure form local websites - no mention.

The reference to Stival  doesn't seem to make much sense as Stival is miles away from the closed section.

Very few houses along that stretch of road so new drains doesn't seem likely.

Laying fibre cables for broadband? Roundabouts and speed humps? Speed cameras?

From what Brightspark and my wife tells me, it is going to be this section...

https://www.google.fr/maps/dir/48.0975374,-3.0764868/48.060608,-3.1595709/@48.0795122,-3.1533985,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m2!4m1!3e0

Which is an 8 kilometer section.
