Most of the smaller places will have their celebrations either side of the 14th as people will want to go to the bigger events. Vannes definately the way to go! The spectacular firework display goes on for ages and has a historical narration in French in between each set. The historical fête held during the day in the beautiful gardens of the ramparts is well worth a visit. Always a great vibe and lots of surprises as you wander around the old part of the town and discover music, dancing, poetry and acting and colourful costumes a plenty. The procession is not to be missed!

Live&Love, that's fine if you aren't limited to ferry crossings from Jersey and have to book quite a way in advance :-)

Vannes on the south coast has a big celebration. Lots of medieval singers and dancers located in and around  the town. Early afternoon there is a huge procession with horses, stilt walkers musicians etc, all dressed in medieval costume (usually watched from one of the bars lining the route). Late evening there is another parade and quite a big fireworks display in the ornamental gardens in front of the walled town. It's  a long day but worth it.

There'll be absolutely loads of things going on, just about every town and commune arranges something. How big do you want it, how far do you want to travel, where do you live?
