Thanks to all who replied.

I solved the problem by simply powering down the box after disconnecting it from the dish.

It now will replay all our favourites recorded by my good lady .She is happy that all her efforts will not be wasted,

I do not know why I did not realise sooner that the simple operation of powering down would work .

We often ovelook the obvious !!!!

It should say no signal but you should still be able to access the recordings on the hard drive.

Bartyb

The recorded programme listing will not come up.

When switched on without the dish connected , the display just shows BBC 1, the last channel we viewed.

It is a Humax  Freesat + with freetime.

Model  HDR 1000 S

it will not replay recorded programmes without the satellite connection.

The search for software answer seems to the best bet . Can you tell me how to go about it please.

Thanks to you both for the replies.

I've tried an old square Foxsat box, an HDR1000s, and an HDR110s and all played recordings with no satellite connection but if yours doesn't then I'd force it to search for the latest software and see if that cures the problem.

Where is it getting stuck, are you able to see the list of recordings?

I think you will have to test this one out for yourself.

Leave the Humax box where it usually lives and unplug the satellite connections - see if recordings playback. Then plug them back in and turn off your Livebox and compare the results. Then unplug the satellite connection whilst the Livebox is still off and see what results you get then.

And whatever the outcome is will be your answer. Whatever it does there it should do in your caravan.
