Ther is the Resistance museum on the road between Pontivy and Josselin, Les Sanglots Longs.

Fascinating display of materials and dioramas housed in a huge hangar.

Closed on a Sat and Sunday mornings there is an artisan's/farmer's market on the other side of the canal opposite the abbey. There are a couple of gift shops and a restaurant in the grounds and 2 bars on the same bit of road as the market. There is an entrance fee to get into the abbey with guides available in English. Free to walk around the grounds.

Josselin castle is just over half an hour away from Pontivy: http://www.brittanytourism.com/discover-brittany/quintessential-brittany/josselin

You can go inside the castle and there is also a museum. Lots of quaint little shops and cafes to while away some time and catch up. If you're feeling energetic you can go up the bell tower of the church.

Vannes is 50 mins away: http://www.brittanytourism.com/discover-brittany/heritage/vannes

Plenty to do there ie museum, cathedral and interesting shops. Plenty of eateries and an indoor market hall.

Moncontour is 40 mins away. Quaint little historic town: http://www.brittanytourism.com/discover-brittany/heritage/moncontour

Failing that then perhaps a trip to the local tourist information office in Pontivy. In case you don't know, its on a barge moored on the canal.

Or check out the Brittany Tourism website: http://www.brittanytourism.com/

You could also have a look at the "what's on" pages on AI

Shame the chateau at Pontivy is now closed as that would have been a good one to go to as nice and local.

As Brittany is some 34,000 square kilometres it might help to say where you are and distance willing to travel.
