More and more shops owned by fewer big boys is never good for the consumer.  Their buying volume increases so they can buy cheaper but the savings go to their shareholders, not the shopper.  Yes, I know that's how capitalism works but it sucks for the little guy.

They (as in Kingfisher) also own Screwfix

JB 2014 as far as I am aware they do own both. They owned part of castorama and acquired the rest of it from the family in exchange for shares in BAnd Q. They own brico depot.

Pour nephew is an area manager for B And Q and the last time we saw him I asked who owned what. I assume it is still the same.

They would have had to close 44 Mr. shops thru-out France.

I thought the Kingfisher group owned both of them.

Never mind castorama, Kingfisher own Brico Depot who beat castorama hands-down re pricing!
