Thank you 'Moi' for the excellent link to http://www.curiua.com/ (for comparing prices across Amazon stores).

I've just bought a french book on amazon.de for 3€ cheaper than amazon.fr and the cordless vaccuum I'm thinking about buying is considerably cheaper if I buy from amazon.co.uk.

Thanks philealingmoi and steverockers for the further useful information.

la musique, I apologise for not responding to you within 24 hours, I have a life.  One quick example of the 100% mark up… I was buying flannels and they were £7 in GBP but the price increased to 20€ if purchased in Euro.

I wasn't being hard on the OP, merely asking them to substantiate a statement which I find hard to believe. The fact that there's not been any response is somewhat indicative.

Our experience in buying from John Lewis is quite trouble free. They have a standard postage rate of £7.50 to send here.

When I lived near Dinan, Leclerc had the option. I don't know if they still have the same system.

Yep, sorry, I misread the comment and then got the reply the wrong way round.

In my defence, I've never been offered the option when using a UK card in France.

No-he was talking about shopping in France with an UK card. Always ask to pay in Euros if given a choice. The advice is to always pay in the local currency wherever you are.
