All the facts are in your pensions forecast.

 Only then will you know for certain the numbers of missing years.

If during the 16 year gap in England your daughter was claiming childbenefit she should have been entitled to home responsibility credits which should mean there is no gap. They only count towards pension rights though.

Many thanks for the replies so far.  I am not sure I made it quite clear.  The 16 year gap in contributions is for an English pension but our daughter has lived here for many years.  She is 46years old.  Many thanks again for any adivce on this.

Apply for a pensions statement then apply afterwards to buy the missing years. 

Could be around £600 per missing year (my 2 years bumming around  N.Z and Oz cost me that per year)

Still a bargain though considering just how much you may get back as a pension.
