It would appear that you have to pay 7.5% on the whole amount.

I cashed in my pension pot a month or so ago & have just sent the forms to the Hotel 'd impots to sign so I can reclaim the UK tax.

rene1950. If you had spread it over different tax years and kept it under the yearly amount allowed tax free you better off. You do not have to claim this on same tax year.

As this is still quite a new option I think only your locla Taxes d'Impot office would have the factual info ...you can ask as if you are still thinking about doing this rather than having already done so.
