That is correct. It's the course recommended by the Official Bulletin of the Ministry as a measure of simplification, in preference to having to use the varying conversion factors applicable when a transfer of sterling into euros was effected during the tax year.

It is my understanding that the official exchange rate used for tax declaration purposes is not the Bank of France average for the whole year but the average of the rate on 31st December last and 31st December of the previous year, i.e., for the current declaration, 2013 and 2014.

(I have calculated this for the last seven or so years and it has always matched that of the tax office   ...   not that there's a great deal of difference this time.  Although if it's the figure quoted in Dabbityduck's post, I'll be a few euros better off!)

I calculated it to be 1.2402(33) and I believe that the Connexion has published this figure   ...   so perhaps they've got it right this year.

Of course, I'll confirm this with the tax office before submitting my declaration!

Phone the impots and ask them, then you'll get the correct rate to use.
