I have just paid a bill to france via money corpe it cost me £5 a transfer and I got a good exchange rate on my money worth looking into , Very easy to do the transaction online

If you really don't want the convenience of a French bank account why not open a €uro account with Barclays? Payments in France would work out cheaper that way.

We can only pay by transfère now no cards or cash nor cheques keeping up with technology  ehh

Thanks all for the replies. My bank (barclays) wants an eyewatering £15 to make the sepa payment. Prevously I have paid in person by card at my tresor public so will try out my best phone french to hopefully pay by card

Any Tresor Public will take your plastic as long as it is Mastercard or Visa.  What they won't take, over a certain amount, is cash.  If you are in uk I presume, therefore, that it could be done by telephone and, certainy, it can be done on line.

I don't think this is an option, AFAIK the tax office/trésor don't take plastic.

But you should be able to make a SEPA payment online using a UK bank account. Have you tried?
