You have to register by the 31st December to be able to vote during the following year for municiapl and european elections. If you go to the town hall they can usually do the form there and then providing you have the right documents with you-from memory it's I.D., recent utility bill and then the cerfa form which you can either get at the mairie of downlaod of the internet.

When you do go and vote, unless you have French nationality, then you will be in a separate list of electors apart from the French voters.
