Well Anonymous the op ask for recommendations Carhaix, callac and Guingamp. Rostrenen is 10-15 mins from Carhaix. Guingamp is 40-45 mins away from Carhaix. Where did an hour and 15 mins from?

The recommendations for places in Rostrenen must be pretty good to warrant an hour and fifteen minutes drive  (each way).

Henry IV restaurant in Rostrenen has closed down sadly.

Coeur de Breizh creperie in Rostrenen is very good and good value too.

You really should consider the Jardins de l'Abbaye de Bon Repos. Wonderful food - mother is the (master) chef and the daughter waits on the tables. Ros, the daughter speaks excellent English albeit with an American accent. http://www.jardinsabbaye.fr/menu/menuGB.html

Pizzeria in rostrenen - La Grotte - near the Salle des Fetes, had some good pizzas and nice pastas there at not silly prices.

Up market the hotel on the N164 at Rostrenen - Henry VI has a restaurant open to non residents, thoroughly enjoyed a meal there last year.

Best  in Carhaix - La Rotonde, or Les bonnets Rouge. In Guingamp, go to Brasserie L'O or La Boissiére. Depends on your budget, but the Guingamp restaurants are excellent.
