Apparently it's been the best season for apples this year in ten years.  We certainly have had an abundance which is great.  Will try the recipe from the Telegraph although I'm a diabetic but will use special sugar.  Thanks for posting it sounds scrumptious.  I made fennel and apple soup which was tasty.

Tart tatin is brill. However, when large quantities are involved, some of the apples need preserving for later use. Peeling, slicing and freezing (lay slices on flat trays for initial freezing to keep slices fairly separate - free flow, before bagging). If you have storage jars, cook and bottle the apples, or with various other ingredients, there are plenty of apple based chutney recipes.
