Petitions will make no difference.  The need to produce increasing amounts of affordable food to feed expanding populations in the world will not go away however many people sign.  If people are concerned about animal welfare, rather than spend time on petitions etc, why not spend time learning all the rules and regulations in place which govern intensive farming.  Concerned people could then form groups wherever these farms are and organise visits to ensure these rules and regulations are followed.

The problem is that if you are paying the MSA more than 50% of your profits in social charges, the only way to live is to get into intensive farming.
