Hopefully you are British and mean a trailer towed behind your car. There are no restrictions about using that on a Bank Holiday. However, if you meant a horse box over 3.5 tonnes then there is a big difference; they are allowed to travel with horses onboard but not if empty.

I am sure you will take it into consideration as the horse press has made an issue of it since  some well known horses have succombed  but given how rough the ferry crossings have been recently combined with diversions  due to the weather,  shipping fever should be a consideration.
