A small area around La Rochelle is well known for it's microclimate...

Hi melou, thank you so much for your quick reply. We will certainly do what you suggested. We desperately want to be by the sea.. it's locating the micro climates, isn't it, we have travelled, but you need to be there to know. Also my husband is tracking the weather closely. Have a look at the weather record for the SW coastal region around the Vendée . . . . the closer to the coast you go (or even one of the islands) the more you get a micri climate.
