I sent a big box of biscuits to the staff and every five years a letter saying to them all, "Thanks for another 5 years with my wife!" 15 years cancer free and it was the NHS!!!

Gave them a box of shortbread for morning coffe plus a card thanking them for excellent care and attention. They said the card was the most welcome and had been posted on the staff notice board.

I have found a big box of really nice assorted biscuits to put in the staff room has been very well received and/or chocolates - any gesture of thanks is appreciated I find.
