Woody,  thanks for that , I am 67 and the cost rof a week/s in hospital would bankrupt me , so need to get something in place , not worried about an occasional doctor/dentist visit etc with a carte vitale but sadly with increasing years the the risk of hospitalisation increases for us all , sadly !

My husband and I have a hospilisation only  policies which gives us peace of mind should we ever need to be hospitalised.    Mine is with Swiss Life and I am covered for 300 per cent at a cost of 29 euros per month (I am 69) and my husband has just taken out a policy wih AFI 150 per cent for 19.90 per month (he is 75).

Further to my original posting I should have mentioned  I have a Carte Vitale as a result of an S1
