FF is a pet hate of mine and apparently yes it can eat bandwidth see here . I any event if that's the only change in your usage it's easy enough to check, just go back to your old browser and check your consumption.

BTW you can check your bandwidth usage at http://checkportal.skylogicnet.com/    and by-pass Nordnet

Hi...I'm very pleased with Firefox but does anyone have experience of it using more download data than say Chrome or similar. I'm finding it much faster but my gb consumption seems to have gone up dramatically since installing it?

In the top right corner there is a symbol that looks like three horizontal bars. That should take you to addons, plugins and the like and let you remove them. It worked with me at least. Hope that helps.
