If it is your own answerphone rather than an online one then no one can help you.  They will all be different.  Google your machine model number and you may well find a PDF of the owner's manual.

I left my answerphone response in French.  I warned all my likely English callers just to ignore he message and speak after the beep.  I reasoned that if I received a call from within France, possibly from the Doctor or some other medical person perhaps changing an appointment they may have been put off by receiving an English response.  My UK callers know that I live in France but, possibly important, calls from within France need a response they can understand.  It works for me.

Are you using the Orange answering system or a stand alone answering system such as the ones made by Panasonic.  More information needed.
