Macs always seem to die this way. eBay is full of all types of dead Macs with power supply problems.

When my PC kept switching off it was the cooling fan -  comp was overheating - just needed a clean up of the dust!

Hi thanks for the info , took it to Dale, he is looking into it, sounds like the power input control, if so will have to be done by Apple , evidently a fault with this model,  Trip to Brest methinks,  thanks again

Before you pay someone, check in your System Preferences under Hardware/Energy Saver to see what these settings are.
