Over the years we have bought somewhere in the region of 10 white goods and have not had a problem until the last but one order when a dishwasher arrived damaged. Upon contacting c discount they offered a discount in case we wanted to keep the dishwasher but as it was damaged on the control panel we declined this and asked for a replacement. The only problem was that they wanted the broken machine back before a replacement was sent out. The day the machine was collected a full refund was given and a credit note as a gesture of goodwill was also offered without even asking. In our experience they have been very good.

I don't understand all this cdiscount bit, cdiscount is simply a market place, they don't have a warehouse full of stock, its loads of different sellers offering goods for sale on a site headed cdiscount, its the same as priceminister, eBay, Amazon,, Mr good deal. French law states that if you advertise items for sale you must have one in stock, but a lot of internet based small companies have nothing in stock and simply order from someone else who delivers direct, some of these companies are based in China, its cheap but not always cheerful.

Ordered and paid once, goods did not arrive, called them to find they had no stock although was in stock when ordered and paid for! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out this outfit are bad news. Quotes given for and against are well over 50% negative. Is that a figure you would accept anywhere else?

I have spent 100's of thousands on-line and have had only one really bad experience in the UK that cost me £120 and CD's inability to reconcile stock and orders taken? I could be cynical and suggest it's a con in which they win more than lose.

I have a dozen brand new V8 diesel Range Rovers at 50% off normal dealer price, cheap delivery to your door. Payment with order and an indefinite delivery date - form a queue here - time to wake up!  I have adreadful memory for many things but one thing we should never forget is - if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. We took a step back a few years ago and decided to buy only the things we needed, wanting was not sufficient reason, it can be quite liberating!

WE HATE CDISCOUNT!!!!!  And, yes, I'm shouting from the rooftops!!!   Our experience with them has been one of the most horrific experiences in a long, long time!  We finally had to get our credit card companies involved, as well as our lovely neighbours (no less that 6 calls to CDiscount call centre).

I have been so tempted to start a Facebook/Social Media campaign against them.  I am totally confused as to how on earth they manage to stay in business....

Hi,

Thanks for the replies ..

To answer a couple of replies .. why three .. bought one .. it was damaged .. got a replacement that was damaged but because we had to wait such a long time for it and the damage was not that bad we kept it ..  bought the third as the price was 50% off .. it came damaged .. maybe just our bad luck ..

Why C Discount instead of local stores .. in this case the 50% discount .. nearly 200 Euro's..

Moral of the story .. if you are prepared to wait for a replacement, and do a double trip to pick it up, check before you sign for it .. if that is possible ..

Rgds

Personally wouldn't use Darty again.

Guys came to install washing machine.  Told me I needed a water filter as 'dirty' water had obviously caused a problem with previous machine.  Cost 30 euros.  My fault for not checking while they were there, but when I looked at the product booklet later there was already a filter on the connecting pipe.

They also offered to arrange a 'special price' to fix the water supply to the machine as there was a problem with the tap.  Their special price was 250 euros.  Our local plumber came next day and did the job for 37 euros.

I reckon they saw me coming.  No more Darty for me!

Cdiscount used to be casino's online store but has now become a marketplace , you could be buying from anyone, you need to check all the info on the page and check who you are actually ordering from, in future you could try darty they price match or electro depot their prices are quite keen.

We have bought several items from them and recieved a really good service, I think cdiscount is a portal to other stores and maybe the service differs depending on whom you place your order. but on this occasion I  have been impressed and I am sorry you have not had the same experience, although I will say from all the items I have bought none are white goods.

We've bought several large items from them without incident with the exception of an office chair which had a small hole in the material (nothing to do with delivery, it was clearly not made properly in the factory). We were sent a label to return the item and was sent a replacement chair.
