Well yes up to a point ;-) but waste electricity doesn't have to be  treated at a sewage plant operated by a specific operator does it, once you've use it it's gone. Though thinking about it, maybe it's not as daft as it sounds.

But I never have lived anywhere where you had a choice of water supplier. It was always either Yorkshire Water, Welsh Water or whatever.

Reveuse, so does gas and electricity and you can choose the supplier for these :-)

+1, I think you will have to have the same water as your neighbours as it all comes down the same mains and goes out down the same sewer

I think each commune decides which company to use!

Perhaps you could check at the mairie.
