Your local LeClerc will probably supply oil, otherwise, ask your neighbours who they use.

Be careful with coal if you have a wood burning stove (one with a glass door) - friends of mine brought coal from the UK & the iron stove cracked in half!

Again, ask your neighbours who supplies wood locally. It's a good way to get to know them & maybe they will kindly take you under their wing for all sorts of things.

If you don't have neighbours nearby, then ask at the Mairie.

Could you use wood for your fire instead of coal? Much easier to get hold of over here...

I know it's no good to you now but you could get your coal from Fergussons in the UK as they do deliver to France.
