There are so many immobiliers and notaires out there that you can afford to shop around.  Leggett Immobilier ask for 8 - 10% in fees and are one of the highest in France.  If you want an "agent" go with a notaire.

Jackelliot - there is a large company called AlloDiagnostic which do the DPE reports.  BUT if you use them, make sure you get the FULL report and not just the Notes. Companies like Odicée in Pontivy also do DPE reports.

You arrange your own inspections if selling privately Jackelliot; this website can give you the details of a local practitioner: https://www.allodiagnostic.com/diagnostic-immobilier/diagnostic-de-performance-energetique-dpe/

If you are anywhere near Morlaix/Guingamp/Callac areas I can recommend someone by PM.

Can someone please tell me how when trying to sell a house privately do you go about obtaining the energy certificate ? We too are thinking selling by using UK agents.  Many thanks.

We live near the harbour town of Audierne a very nice coastal area, lots to do & see & our house would be suitable to have as a gite let ,as we have  seperate rooms It's in a small hamlet with a farm next door to good life springs to mind !
