I just had my gable end done for the first time in 25 years  by a nice AE Brit , he even repainted it for me when it was dry , was not expensive and good job done .

Depending on where you rae I can PM you his name and number !

We bought our hous ein 2000, around 10 years prior to that one gable end had been crepied, it was like new and very white. I didn't care for the rough finish, looked like the peaks on an iced christmas cake! So I set to to remove it with a heat gun and some scrapers. It came off beautifully with the heat and is now very smooth and still very white. The rest of the house has been paited twice and is ready for the third, I'll power wash the gable and know it will come clean and not need repinting. I have no idea who did it but I have seen a few ads over the years for 25 yr guarantee wall finishes, I'm sure they'll be able to do a smoother finish if you preferred.

Worth looking at?

Be sure of good advice, our neighbour had his (crepi) "treated" at great expence a couple of years ago, I would say they are again, no better now, if not worse.
