Thanks anyway dagbaruch (and one4all). We bought the cooker this afternoon and I am sure that we will be happy with it. It's a good looker anyway. At least we bought in France should there be a problem under the warranty but with luck all will be well. I believe there is an element of luck whatever one buys and at whatever price.

It was just a spelling mistake (my fingers are to blunt for the tablet, and I didn't check before I sent it). 

 Another request to be able to edit a reply, as you can with a classified ad!

Thank you very much for that input. I notice you wrote gleN whereas we are looking at gleM. they appear to be two seperate brands. It seems a bit too close for corporate comfort but there you go. A bit like Citroen and Citroem?

We have just got rid of our Glen oven, after it broke down for a third time in 4 years. It wasn't bad, just unreliable.
