powdery mildew is a sign of water stress and sometimes poor air circulation around the plants. next season try giving them a good water every couple of weeks if no rain and perhaps a mulch to stop evaporation.

if they are congested then maybe a bit of pruning would help too.

I agree with countrydweller. I find that diluted milk is very effective against mildew and black spot. The other advantage is that it is a natural product and you don't have to worry about breathing in harmful chemicals.

Full fat ilk diluted to about 10% and sprayed on affected area
