We have seen them on our fennel for the last  couple of years - - - - - later in the year when the caterpillars appear they eat most of the fennel leaves but we don't mind  because they are so colourful - - We live in Huelgoat

We saw several at Montertelot (just south of Ploermel) on their host plants of wild carrot family a few years ago but now they have "improved" the area by cutting back the weeds, we have not seen them for 2 years now.

It would be great if Anglo inf; could provide a section where our photographs could be shown alongside our letters when we see such wondrous things.

We have lots of the humming bird moths, (pappilion collibri) on the lavender, they seem to 'specialize' on it, don't see them on anything else of ours.

A few summers ago, we stopped at a picnic site on route to Roscoff.

There was a large wild pear tree tree nearby, completed fully covered by Swallowtail butterflys. (more butterflys than pears)  It was an unforgetable sight!

Has anyone else seen them on pear tees?

We also had a swallowtail on Sunday - we're about 20 minutes away from the Mont St Michel and have verbena outside the front door which it enjoyed. We also have 2 humming bird hawk moths who arrive every afternoon and spend over an hour on the verbena :)

I have wrote the name down and that is what we will be planting, Thank you.

We have great big sunflowers, attracting masses of bees and wasps.
