Sorry Trevor you asked where I am. I'm in Paule (22) midway between Carhaix and Rostrenen.

Hi Trevor, we had the same problem with the pine. The total cost was €800 which covered bringing down both trees, cutting the oak into manageable sections for us to cut into firewood, they did the same with the pine but also chipped the branches as this was in the front garden and would've made getting to the house difficult. We had previous devis from French tree surgeons of €1000 and more. We contracted with Graham Love of Trois Feuilles, who subcontracted, as both trees needed more than one one to take down, with Magie des Arbres and Salix GS. All the tree surgeons are English, and worked efficiently and quickly. I was impressed and pleased with the end result.

Where abouts are you, and what did they charge, as we have a big fir tree in the front garden and don't want it to fall on the house.
