Hi Johnp

we are in between Plancoet and Matignon and last year jad to buy new glass for our woodburner.  We think we got it from  Brico Marche  in Plancoet.  The young man who cut the glass informed us that we could possibly claim for this on our house insurance and provided us with a bill of sale.  We think it cost about 150 euros and after visiting our local insurance agency Groupama with the bilthey re imbursed us for the glass no quibble.  Hope this helps

Yes we claimed on our house insurance - most insurances cover broken glass. Inform  the insurance and give them the bill.  We have done it for a efel stove several years ago (large glass which had to be cut to shape) so went to stove supplier in Callac with the door and we got it back several weeks later all refitted with new rope etc..

We are  running it with a small crack at the moment as it needs doing again, but will wait until the spring as don't want to be with the fire.

Goodluck

I broke the glass on my chinese stove , looked up 'the heatproof glass company ' in UK , put size in online , £14 or so + £8 delivery , here in 6 days !!

While I was waiting I cut a bit of metal sheet to size, to enable carry on using the stove - no problem .

The cost of the glass from

http://www.is-stoves.co.uk/product/1150/category/108

in the UK is £14.50 plus the gasket at £5.00 plus some delivery of course, so don't let the brico take the mickey with their price.

Just to avoid any misunderstanding, that is the price for one door.

I went to my local Brico and walked out with a replacement glass five minutes later. It's a standard stock item.
