Hi, that is a good idea, but the chimney is so high I can't get up there, tried getting in the loft space, but cannot even remove the hatch. Will have to find someone with a long ladder to do it. Thanks for the advice, I am also worried that they might be doing damage in the loft. the last time I looked up there was when I had it insulated in 2008 and the bees moved in in 2009! haha.

Thanks Jane Martin

I am trying to set up a hive in the next few weeks.  I have left a message with a friend who is a beekeeper to see if he would be interested in collecting your bees for me.  I will contact you as soon as I hear back from him.  You can phone me on 02 96 29 71 96.  May I have your phone number too?

I've just spoken to my neighbour who is an apiculteur, he can't take them but he says if they don't bother you, cover or block up the chimney opening at night and then let the painter do his stuff. Afterwards uncover them in the morning.
